What an incredible experience! Every detail of our stay was approached with thoughtfulness, care, and pride. And you find out in milliseconds why so much pride beams from the team at Post Ranch. The Peak house accommodation is perfection- spacious, well-appointed, fully equipped, clean, quiet, and private with Sonos surround sound (playing through the speakers upon your arrival). The entire property is built with heart, soul, and steel- literally! We loved the reclaimed wood and steel elements!! The architecture of the entire property is a vibe. The restaurant is out of this world- best views in Big Sur and hands down THE BEST food we have ever eaten. Go for the Tastings menu- it won't let you down. The team is also a vibe. We loved who we interacted with the most- Aldo the mixologist ;), Hector the extra special server who took such great care of us, and Andrew who personally delivers coffee before the restaurant opens....and remembers how you like it. All things SUPERB. Don't think twice- just book it!

This was our first time in Big Sur and we stayed at two different hotels to try them out. The first was Deetjens (already left a 5-star review - totally magical place) and the second was Post ranch. Post Ranch did not disappoint! We only stayed two nights but it was absolute bliss! First, the staff is exceptional. So hard working, so friendly and helpful. The room (we got a treehouse) was perfection. Fabulous design, views of Pacific - and stars through the skylight. Very comfortable bed (and phenomenal linens). We tried all three pools including star gazing from Meditation pool our last night.I would agree that the all-day menu could have more choices though every item we had was tasty. We had dinner at Sierra Mar one night. I would say the portion size for the cost could be improved but it certainly was delicious and the wine the sommelier recommended was delicious! It’s such a quiet, peaceful hotel - luxury without ostentation. Well done!

Just amazing! It is so beautiful and relaxing that I didn't want to leave. The view is unbeatable whether your room faced the ocean or the mountains. Our room had mountain view and it was so beautiful - I actually preferred it since you have plenty of ocean views from the restaurant and pool areas. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the tasting menu! The sommelier's wine recommendation was perfect. Such great attention to detail -- from the service to the amenties (they even had a menu of pillows that could be delivered to your room!) Just an overall perfect, relaxing stay. Wish I didn't have to leave.

My wife and I drove past this place 5 years ago, we never thought we would be able to stay here but here we are 5 years later staying in the beautiful Peace room. To say this property is breathtaking is an understatement, having a room right on the ocean front is so so amazing. The staff is also so amazing, especially our driver taking us to our room, you could tell he truly loved working here and knew a ton about the property. Everything about this property is beyond luxurious. Even had some Lexus cars to drive around. Highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway. Worth every penny

Amazing place. It took me a little time to get settled in and realize the point of this place. Just do nothing. Reconnect with your surroundings. Be present! While I'm not saying there's nothing to, there's plenty, like swimming, hike through the Redwood Cathedral, visit the chef's garden and check out the chickens. Find a bench and watch the ducks at the Lilly pond. Relax at one of the infinity pools hanging off the side of a 1000 ft cliff. Enjoy a meal during sunset perched over the Pacific Ocean...but I found sitting on my deck, watching the sparkling ocean, the hawks riding the thermals, the bats catching dinner at dusk, naming your personal lizard is just what I needed. The food was terrific. The service was not overbearing yet available, the architectural design of the homes...second to none. Rustic yet classy. When I asked my wife, who I was celebrating 20 years of ups and downs, what her favorite part of the Post Ranch Inn was, she could have said, the massages, the food, the free Lexus's for a quick drive on Hwy 1, the stocked fridge with your favorites or the solidarity ‐- she said the deck... I agree, the deck that has no obstructions, that overlooks the ocean is mind blowing. A great stay we will remember for another 20 years. If you can, you should. Post Ranch Inn, thank you for so many memories but most of all to "pause" and reset.

The ultimate luxurious getaway. We came for a long weekend, you just can’t beat the views here, it’s so majestic and the smell is so amazing too, I wish they could make a candle of woods and sea. The service is as 5 star as it gets, they really make you feel like you are their most special guest. Food is amazing! Wine, incredible and chosen for each course. We slept so well too, can’t wait to go back!

We stayed at Post Ranch Inn from January 29 to February 1 for our 20th anniversary and it truly felt like a dream. The property is absolutely breathtaking, with the most stunning 180-degree ocean views that make you feel completely immersed in nature. The seclusion and privacy are unmatched, creating a peaceful and deeply restorative experience. Our Upper Pacific Suite was beautiful — thoughtfully designed with modern comforts, including a gorgeous outdoor hot tub that made the stay even more special. We especially appreciated the daily amenities and small touches that made us feel so well cared for. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay. Everyone was incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, anticipating our needs while still allowing us to fully relax and disconnect. DJ Singh, as the Director of Guest Relations, made a special effort to check in on our stay, and give us tips on the local area and its attractions. Dining at Sierra Mar was exceptional. Every meal was delicious, and the service was equally memorable — warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. The experiences offered on property made the stay unforgettable. Our spa session was wonderful, and Heather's guided meditation with forest bathing was both grounding and unique. The stargazing experience with Sergio was truly mind-blowing and one of the highlights of our trip. Post Ranch Inn was the perfect place to celebrate a special milestone, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. We hope to return one day.
